'Teen Mom' Amber Reunited with Daughter

After Teen Mom star Amber Portwood was charged with domestic abuse, her   daughter was made a ward of state. But now 2-year-old Leah is back in her mom's arms.

Portwood, 20, and ex-fiance Gary Shirley appeared in an Anderson, Indiana, courtroom last week for an emergency child placement hearing concerning their daughter. According to UsMagazine.com, authorities returned Leah to Portwood on Monday.

"Leah is moving into Amber's new home, where Amber had her daughter's bedroom all set up for her return," a source said. "Amber is so excited to have Leah back!"

On Nov. 18, Portwood was charged with attacking Shirley, 24, in front of Leah; she is faced with two felony counts and one misdemeanor count of domestic violence and battery.

The troubled mom, who is on medication for anxiety and depression, previously said she was striving to change her ways, so she could be a better mother to Leah.

"I'm trying to put the pieces back together," she said. "I have to get myself better so when I get my baby back, she sees her mom as happy as can be."

Do you think Amber can become a better mom? Chime in below!

UFC 123 post-fight notes: Penn leaving career in White's hands

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. -- B.J. Penn had lost his past two fights as a lightweight, but scored a 21-second win as a welterweight. Penn said he isn't sure where he wants his career to go next.

"For first time in my career, I'm going to make Dana make the call on my weight," Penn said. White laughed and said, "It took 10 years!"

-- George Sotiropoulos is leaving Detroit as a big winner. Not only did he beat Joe Lauzon, he won an $80,000 Fight of the Night bonus with Lauzon, and was already given his next bout. White announced that Sotiropoulos will fight Dennis Siver at UFC 127 in Sotiropoulos' native Australia.

-- The other $80,000 bonuses were given to B.J. Penn for Knockout of the Night and Phil Davis for "Submission of the Night."

-- White was not happy with the judges decision on the Tyson Griffin/Nik Lentz decision. Though Lentz was given the split decision, White said that "Tyson got [expletive]."

-- Though Quinton "Rampage" Jackson asked for an immediate rematch, White shot that notion down, saying that Jackson won that fight. Jackson said that he is leaving his career in the UFC's hands.

"I don't own the UFC, homey. I just fight here," Jackson said.

-- Jackson walked out to the theme song for Pride, the now-defunct Japanese promotion where he made his name as a fighter. He used it to remember the energy of the crowd, and how he used to fight for honor when he fought in Pride.

-- Phil Davis said that his unique submission is going to be called the "Mr. Wonderful."

Britney Spears 'Glee' Episode Draws Record-Setting Ratings

Tribute episode brings in 13.3 million viewers.

Madonna's "Glee" tribute episode might have been titled "The Power of Madonna," but it was the show's tribute to Britney Spears that reigned supreme. The broadcast, which featured cameos from the pop princess herself, drew 13.3 million viewers, leading the 8 p.m. hour and posting its best-ever rating among adults 18-49.

Tuesday night's episode, appropriately titled "Britney/Brittany," had a 5.8 rating and rose 4 percent from last week's season-two premiere. The feat made history for "Glee," as it becomes the first series since NBC's "Seinfeld" in 1993 to debut as the top series of the week and then spike in ratings the following week, according to Entertainment Weekly.

The episode, which highlighted Heather Morris' character Brittany S. Pearce, revolved around the McKinley High students' fight to perform Britney Spears numbers. Through anesthesia-induced sequences, the Gleeks tapped into their inner pop star to perform renditions of the singer's hits, including " ... Baby One More Time" and "Me Against the Music."

In addition to Spears' appearances on the hit Fox show, the singer took to Twitter during the West Coast premiere to thank fans for campaigning in support of the episode. "I loved it! Thank you guys SO much for making this happen!" she tweeted. The pop princess also gave props to the many song and video re-creations, including "I'm a Slave 4 U," saying, "Slave: Oh ... My ... God ...! Those little boys are SO cute! I know how hard it is to dance with that snake! Nice job."

Spears' manager, Adam Leber, also showed his appreciation for the episode, which spawned multiple trending topics on Twitter. "So glad you guys loved the GLEE episode! The Overwhelming worldwide response has been insane.3 of the top 10 worldwide trending topics.Sick! Big big big thank you to Ryan Murphy, the incredible cast and Brit's fans for making it happen...."

After such success, it wouldn't be surprising if the rumors of a second Spears-devoted episode came true, since "Britney/Brittany" only included hits from the first few years of the singer's career.

One year after fateful phone call, Harris building legacy

DETROIT -- One year ago, Gerald Harris made a call that changed his life. He called into MMA Junkie Radio while UFC president Dana White was a guest. Harris, an alumnus of the seventh season of "The Ultimate Fighter," pranked White but then had a good conversation about getting back to the UFC. By January, he was TKOing John Salter at Ultimate Fight Night 20.

But the middleweight insists that he's the same guy.

"All this stuff doesn't define me," Harris told Cagewriter. "I'm trying to build a legacy, become a legend in the UFC. A lot of guys get caught up in the hype and forget who they are as a person."

He has tweaked his preparation a bit recently, as he worked at Grudge Training Center with Trevor Wittman as well as with his home gym, Ghost Dog in Oklahoma.

In 2010, he has TKO or KO wins over Salter, Mario Miranda and David Branch. This weekend, he is facing Maiquel Falcao, a newcomer to the UFC. This is the fourth time that he is fighting a UFC newbie, but he says not to underestimate the Brazilian.

"This guy's tough. Anyone with 25 wins, he's tough. People will say, who has he fought? I don't care. He's been better than 25 other guys," Harris said. "A lot of people are underestimating the new guys and thinking that I'm getting guys with UFC jitters, but if you saw the last guy I fought, David Branch, there was nothing nervous about him. He was trying to beat my head in."

Harris said that one of the best parts of fighting at UFC 123 is that he is sharing the card with his former TUF coach, Quinton "Rampage" Jackson.

"My biggest thing is being on the same card as my Rampage. He was my coach on TUF, then I lost, got cut, but now here I am on the same card as him."

Harris called Jackson a friend, and said that the two remained close well after the taping for TUF had ended. He always knew he could get to this level and is enjoying the little things about being there.

"I knew I was capable of it, but to be here is amazing. I'm signing posters, looking at Machida thinking, "I always want to be you on the video game."

And whether he is co-main eventing with his mentor or fighting the first preliminary bout, Harris does not intend to change everything that has gotten him to this point in his career.

"Even when I'm fighting for the title or I am the champion, I'm going to keep the same attitude. Stay humble and stay hungry. A fight is a fight."

Lady Gaga's Born This Way Will 'Grab All The Monsters,' Akon Says

'She is amazing when it comes to just taking things to the next level,' label boss says of Gaga's 2011 release.
By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Kelly Marino

Earlier this year, Akon teased that Lady Gaga was working on "crazy" new tracks for her forthcoming Born This Way album. Now, Gaga's label boss has a few more details to share about the hotly anticipated LP, due in 2011.

"Well, Gaga and her follow-up, I've definitely heard [it], and what I can really tell you about it is the fact that I'm excited — and I'm hard to excite," he laughed to MTV News about the release. "I'm really hard to excite, 'cause my big question was like, 'Wow, how are you going to outdo yourself on this one? Do you realize how big you are? Do you know how big you really are? How are you going to outdo yourself?' "

"If I was going to compare it to her previous work, I would definitely say it's a notch up," he said. "It's like she's slowly taking you on to this journey down this road. If she were to just drastically do it, she probably would have lost everybody from the first album, but once the sound was created and established, now we can use that as a tool to grab all the monsters and walk them down this graveyard. It's crazy. It's amazing."

What are you expecting from Gaga's next album? Let us know in the comments!

Jay-Z Talks Tupac, Beyonce During Charlie Rose Interview

Rapper chides veteran talk-show host for mispronouncing Tupac's name.

BROOKLYN, New YorkJay-Z's new book, "Decoded," may be about translating the lyrics in his songs, but when the iconic MC sat down with talk-show host Charlie Rose, he promised to "decode" everything.

Rose interviewed the rapper on Thursday before an audience at the Brooklyn Museum for a future episode of his PBS program, and the pair touched on much more than music.

With Beyoncé, his mother and other family members seated in the front row, Jay-Z held court on an array of topics, including Tupac Shakur, his arrest for stabbing a record executive and his drug-dealing past.

"Did you ever do the drugs?" Rose asked the Roc Nation boss.

"Crack cocaine," Jay responded, drawing laughs from the audience. "C'mon, man. That's hard-core, man. Maybe a little weed. A Ballantine Ale. Or a Guinness Stout."

"Decoded," Jay-Z's first book, is part memoir and part deconstruction of his lyrics, which have helped to garner more #1 albums than any solo artist in history.

Sporting a gray blazer, black v-neck sweater, dark denim jeans and designer kicks, Jay-Z was casual and charismatic throughout the evening.

When Rose mispronounced Tupac's name, the rapper humorously chided the talk-show host.

"If it was Tupac," Jay said, pronouncing it "two-pack" and pausing to let the laughter build up, "it would be spelled with a 'k' and not a 'c' at the end. You're not the first to say it wrong, but hopefully, after tonight, you'll be the last." The veteran journalist redeemed himself when he leaned over to give Jay-Z a fist pound, signifying that he had learned his lesson.

Rose probed further into the "Run This Town" star's life, at one point asking about his arrest in the stabbing of former Biggie confidant Lance "Un" Rivera.

"He was stabbed, but he went home without taking an aspirin," Jay responded, defusing the headlines of the past. "He was fine. Don't feel bad for him."

As the conversation neared its end, Rose brought up the guarded rapper's marriage to singer Beyoncé. He pointed to a clip of the two from the video for "O3 Bonnie and Clyde," but Jay chimed in before Rose could ask his question.

"I don't know how I let her wear that Boston hat," Jay-Z said. "She took the B a little too far. That's what I thought of.

"How did I get out of that," he joked, after Rose was flustered and forgot his question.

As of press time, the broadcast date for the episode of "Charlie Rose" featuring Jay-Z had not been announced.

Jackson takes tight decision from Machida at UFC 123 main event

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. -- Quinton "Rampage" Jackson beat Lyoto Machida in a 29-28, 28-29, 29-28 decision in the main event at UFC 123 in front of a loud crowd at the Palace of Auburn Hills. Jackson won the with aggressiveness, and escaped a close call in the final round.

The first round began just as expected, with Rampage immediately stalking, and Machida immediately being elusive. Machida used leg kicks, movement and misdirection to keep the distance, until Jackson finally chased him and was able to land combinations. After the second flurry of punches, Machida clinched with Rampage. They broke apart, and Machida again the clinch to defend against Jackson's aggressiveness.

The clinching continued in the second round, with little action coming from it until two minutes in, when Jackson completed a takedown. They returned to their feet and the clinch. Machida landed a knee again, followed by Jackson breaking free and then landing a huge uppercut that Machida survived. Machida's elusiveness continued to frustrate Jackson, who did everything he could to get into punching distance of Machida.

Machida finally exploded with offense in the third round, throwing a flurry of punches and then a headkick. Jackson appeared in trouble, then roared back with a few punches of his own until Machida took him down. Then, the two were immobile again. Machida passed guard into full mount and tried to get an arm bar, but Jackson's strength won out. He picked up Machida for a slam, but Machida popped out before he could finish it. Back on their feet, they clinched again for another takedown attempt. Machida tried for one more submission before the fight was over, but the round ended before he could complete it.

"Machida is hard to hit. He's going to be around for a long time," Jackson said after the fight. "Even though I don't want to, I think it would be fair to have an immediate rematch."

Both fighters held and successfully defended the UFC light heavyweight belt and desperately want to get back into the title mix. Both were also coming off losses. Machida lost the belt to Mauricio "Shogun" Rua in May. Later that month, Rashad Evans decisioned Jackson in a grudge match between the two.

Coming off loss, Simpson picking up new tools to beat Munoz

DETROIT -- At UFC 123, Aaron Simpson will have a unique experience when facing Mark Munoz on the Spike televised undercard. The 36-year-old fighter will be coming off of a loss for the first time in his MMA career.

He was TKOed by Chris Leben at "The Ultimate Fighter" Season 11 finale in June, and Simpson was forced to take a look at the way he fights.

"I looked at fight strategies more than anything, and evaluated that fight and worked to pick up some more tools," Simpson told Cagewriter. "I hopefully have some things to surprise Munoz with. It's good having two wrestlers with pretty big backgrounds in the sport going after it trying to beat each other up."

In addition to working with UFC standouts Ryan Bader and C.B. Dollaway at their newly opened gym, Simpson headed north to San Jose to get in work at the American Kickboxing Academy, home of UFC heavyweight champ Cain Velasquez and welterweight contender Josh Koscheck.

"It's nice to go out there and spar with them and see how they do things. We worked hard. Every day I was there was a good experience."

Simpson was a two-time All-American wrestler at Arizona State and coached for 10 years, first at Arizona State, then at Cal Tech. Along the way, he befriended Munoz, a national champ at Oklahoma State and then a coach at OSU and UC-Davis. Now, he has to fight his friend.

"We talked to each other and had to accept it and move forward. It's a little bummer because there are enough guys in the weight class that you could fight, especially this early in our careers. But the fans are going to get a treat."

Since both fighters are such strong wrestlers, Simpson expects that their wrestling skills will cancel each other out and that fans will see a slugfest. He balked at the idea that a wrestling-filled fight is boring.

"You can't just label wrestlers as anything, because there are some very exciting wrestlers out there that are fighting and knocking people out. Look at what C.B. [Dollaway] has done. Look at what Bader's done. They're going out there and finishing fights. Sometimes styles clash and it gets a little boring, but for the most part I think it's a little B.S."

"Sad" Christina Aguilera Spent Thanksgiving Without Son Max

Fresh off her split from husband Jordan Bratman, Christina Aguilera had to spend Thanksgiving without her son, Max. While the two-year-old stayed in Los Angeles with his dad, the Burlesque star took a trip East with pals -- and her new guy, Matt Rutler -- to fill the void.

"This is the first Thanksgiving she was without Max," a source told People.com. "It was really hard for her and she was feeling sad, so she decided to go to the East Coast with Matt and a group of friends."

Aguilera's new beau kept her busy, as they first jetted off to New York, before heading to Rhode Island to visit Rutler's family.

"Since his family lives so close, they decided to drop in for a few hours," says the source.

Though meeting her man's mom, Kathleen, sounds like a step towards the serious side, the insider claims Aguilera and Rutler, who met on the Burlesque set, are taking things slow.

"They’re still getting to know each other better," says the source.

Britney Spears To Hit Studio With Max Martin, Dr. Luke This Week

'I'm pretty sure it's a smash,' Spears' manager tweets about song for her upcoming album.
By Jocelyn Vena

For those wondering what the deal is with Britney Spears' next album, her manager, Adam Leber, tweeted an update about the princess of pop's musical endeavors as she works on the follow-up to 2008's Circus.

"Brit is recording a big big BIG new song on Friday with #MaxMartin & @TheDrLuke. I'm pretty sure it's a smash!" he wrote. Leber recently said that the album would sound "progressive" and that ''it'll be a departure from what you've heard" in the past.

Dr. Luke retweeted Leber's message, as well as this update for all the Britney fans out there: "Please continue to wait 4 Britney's new song!!!!" Luke worked with Spears on her "Circus" track for her last album.

As for Martin, he and Spears have a long history of making music together, having worked on "3," "... Baby One More Time" and "If U Seek Amy."

"She's such an icon, I don't want to let anyone down," Dr. Luke recently shared about working with Britney, who is expected to release music sometime in early 2011. "But most importantly, I want to make good music ... I'm excited to be co-executive producing with Max Martin, the person who kind of invented Britney, and to make good music. And she's such an amazing vehicle to getting that music out to a lot of people in every country."

Spears has also hit the studio with producer Danja, who worked on her song "Gimme More." He explained, "I'm definitely gonna do my part and try to make it hard-hitting, up-tempo, high-energy. That's what I think we need and that's what I'm gonna shoot for."

Who will coach the next 'Ultimate Fighter'? We have suggestions

After his fast beatdown of Takeya Mizugaki on Thursday night, Urijah Faber brought up the idea of coaching on "The Ultimate Fighter." Wanderlei Silva and Alan Belcher have both asked for the chance to coach on the show then fight each other. Why not grant these fighters their wish?

Faber/winner of Dominick Cruz and Scott Jorgensen: A lighter-weight season of "The Ultimate Fighter" would introduce the casual UFC fan to this group of small but talented fighters. Starting off with Faber makes sense, as he is an already well-known fighter and can bring fellow WEC veterans and Team Alpha Male members Joseph Benavidez and Chad Mendes with him. With Cruz, the UFC would get an already brewing rivalry, and with Jorgensen, Faber would face off with a fighter he helped get in the business.

This season would then lead to the bantamweight title bout. Faber already said he's up for it, but no moves can be made until after the Jorgensen/Cruz bout happens in December.

Wanderlei Silva/Alan Belcher: Silva is an MMA legend and has a world of experience to share with a new crop of fighters. He is also one of MMA's most entertaining and likable personalities. (Follow him on Twitter for proof.) Belcher is an exciting, young fighter who would match up well with Silva in the cage. He would also tap into the coaching think tank at Roufusport, currently one of the hottest camps in MMA.

Winner of Frankie Edgar vs. Gray Maynard/Winner of Ben Henderson vs. Anthony Pettis: This season could build heat for the undisputed UFC lightweight title. No matter how the bouts shake out, you have four exciting, skilled fighters from great camps. Who doesn't want advice from Renzo Gracie, should Edgar win? Or learn to kick from Duke Roufus, should Pettis win?

Cain Velasquez/Junior dos Santos: This season could serve as a pre-cursor to their UFC heavyweight championship. They would both bring in excellent coaches and teach their fighters well, but neither seem comfortable in the spotlight.

Who would you like to coach the next season?

WEC 52 and UFC 122's Three Stars: Faber, Benavidez and Siver

Last week featured a ton of free (for the price of cable) MMA, and while WEC 52 was reliably fantastic, UFC 122 was not the best collection of fights. Still, both cards featured fighters who were a step above.

No. 1 star -- Urijah Faber: It turns out the new Faber is the same as the old Faber. In his debut at bantamweight, the former featherweight champ submitted Takeya Mizugaki, a fighter who had only lost by a stoppage once before in his career.

No. 2 star -- Joseph Benavidez: Faber's teammate and training partner had his own big win. He had to try three times, but finally, Benavidez was able to submit one of MMA's best jiu-jitsu players, Wagnney Fabiano, with a guillotine.

No. 3 star -- Dennis Siver: Fighting in front of his home crowd at UFC 122 in Germany, Siver delivered. He dominated "The Ultimate Fighter" star Andre Winner, and ended the bout with a beautiful rear-naked choke. He earned a $60,000 Submission of the Night bonus for his work.

Honorable mention -- Demetrious Johnson: "Mighty Mouse" executed a perfect game plan for beating Damacio Page, a fighter who won his last two fights by highlight-reel KOs. Johnson moved well, cut angles and used takedowns to avoid Page's lethal punches, then won with a guillotine. Thought he would be perfect for a flyweight division, Johnson has staked a claim on bantamweights, as well.

MMA Top 10 Light Heavyweights: Who's No. 2?

by Michael David SmithWhen you're trying to rank MMA fighters, it's easy to say you'll just rank them based on who they've beaten and who they've lost to inside the cage. It's a lot harder to actually create the rankings when you realize that it's mathematically impossible to rank every fighter ahead of the guys he's beaten and behind the guys who have beaten him.

That's the challenge of picking the No. 2 light heavyweight in the world right now. UFC light heavyweight champion Shogun Rua is No. 1, but there are three candidates for No. 2: Rampage Jackson, Lyoto Machida and Rashad Evans. And there's simply no way to rank those three without putting one of them behind someone he's beaten, and another one ahead of a man who has beaten him. Machida beat Evans, Evans beat Rampage, and Rampage beat Machida. Any way you slice it, someone has to get ranked ahead of someone who beat him in the cage.

So who's No. 2? I make my choice below.

By now, you've no doubt downloaded the song and gazed longingly at photos from the set of the video. But despite all of that, you probably still have no idea what to expect from Ke$ha's "We R Who We R" clip.

And neither did we ... so when MTV News caught up with Ke$ha backstage at the 2010 MTV Europe Music Awards in Madrid, we decided to ask her for a quick synopsis of the video, the first she's releasing off her upcoming Cannibal repack. And from the sound of things, the clip is probably going to get a rise out of certain folks.

"This video is a little bit 'sexy time,' I'm not gonna lie, it may induce a boner or two," Ke$ha laughed. "I'm not sure, [you'll have to] report back. But I'm hoping for at least one."

We'll definitely let you know. Anyway, aside from all that sexiness, there's another aspect to the "We R" video that Ke$ha is equally excited about: the sheer amount of explosions she managed to pack into the thing.

"[For] this video, I kinda thought, 'I should be blowing things up,' " she smiled. "So we closed down downtown Los Angeles and, I mean, I'm not going to give away all of it, but I do blow some stuff up."

Sweet. And if small outfits and large-caliber explosives aren't enough to compel you to watch, well, Ke$ha still has one more trick up her sleeve for the "We R" video: There's gonna be plenty of beer on hand, too.

"Look, it's got bombs, boners, babes, boobs and beer ... always beer," she said. "What more do you want?"

Are you looking forward to Ke$ha's new video? Let us know in the comments!

Strikeforce Rules Director Explains the Eye Poke Ruling

by Michael David SmithFriday night's Strikeforce fight between Marius Zaromskis and Waachiim Spiritwolf was over as soon as it started, with Zaromskis accidentally poking Spiritwolf in the eye just six seconds into the first round, causing an injury that prevented Spiritwolf from continuing.

The fight was officially declared a no contest, but there was confusion about the proper procedures for the referee and ringside doctor to end the bout, with the announcers on Showtime saying the ref improperly gave Spiritwolf five minutes to recover.

In an interview with MMAFighting.com, Strikeforce rules director Cory Schafer said the ref actually did a textbook-perfect job of applying the rules, and he discussed some of the misconceptions that fans and members of the media have about the rules of MMA. The full interview is below.

Sakara off UFC 122, Ludwig opens with win over Osipczak

Alessio Sakara was a fight day casualty today in Germany at UFC 122. An undisclosed illness (described as flu-like symptoms) forced the promotion to scrap the Sakara-Jorge Rivera fight, which was slated to be the co-main event.

Duane "Bang" Ludwig was the beneficiary. His fight against against Nick Osipczak was moved to the main card. They engaged in a back and forth battle. Osipczak did more damage in the first and Ludwig was overwhelming in the third. The issue arose with the second. It was razor thin. Ludwig (pictured) got the nod on 2-of-3 judges' cards and walked away with a split decision win on the first televised fight at UFC 122.

If anyone deserved a break it was Ludwig (20-11, 3-2 UFC). A 72-match veteran of the fight game, he'd experienced heartbreak after heartbreak with the UFC. He made a stupid mistake at UFC 108 and got armbarred by Jim Miller. Then at UFC on Versus 1 this March, he suffered fluke injury in the first round when he tried to brace his fall on a takedown, Ludwig suffered a dislocated ankle.

Today in Oberhausen, he fought hard when it counted most. The third round proved that he belonged in the UFC.

Vemola looks awesome at light heavyweight

Seth Petruzelli has been in there with some pretty impressive fighters, that includes battling giants in the 230-260 pound range during Season 2 of "The Ultimate Fighter." So it was a bit shocking to see Karlos Vemola repeatedly slamming "The Silverback" on his head during their undercard bout.

From the opening seconds, Vemola wanted no part of the standup game so charged forward to play to his strength as a former amateur wrestler. He scored two huge takedowns. His strength was overwhelming. Petruzelli got to his feet but couldn't keep Vemola away. It went down a third time with 2:17 left in the first and that's where the Czech landed a huge right that may have broken Petruzelli's nose. He rolled to his side and covered up. Referee Leon Roberts jumped in to save Petruzelli at 3:46 of the first.

Vemola (7-1, 1-1 UFC) debuted in the UFC at heavyweight and lost to the much bigger Jon Madsen at UFC 118. He's a physical specimen but was simply too small to compete with the big boys at only 220 pounds. In his first fight down at 205, his stamina was solid. Vemola needs a lot of work on the feet but his wrestling and strength may good enough to compete at a high level in the light heavyweight division. Keep in mind, he's only 25 years old.

A nasty kneebar from Rocha sends TUF 11 runner-up McCray packing

With the addition of the WEC fighters at 135 and 145 pounds, the UFC roster is deeper than ever. That's also means the competition to stay on the roster is tougher than ever. Today at UFC 122, the runner-up from TUF 11, Kris McCray may have blown his shot with the promotion.

McCray, a good wrestler, played with fire by going to the ground with Brazilian jiu-jitsu whiz Carlos Eduardo Rocha. Rocha made him pay. The 29-year-old took advantage of a McCray mistake and slapped on a kneebar. McCray's left leg was hyperextended badly. He had no choice but tap at  2:21 of the first round. That makes it 10-0 with nine victories by submission for Rocha.

UFC 122 undercard:

Carlos Eduardo Rocha def. Kris McCray via submission (kneebar) - Round 1, 2:21.
Karlos Vemola def. Seth Petruzelli via TKO (strikes) - Round 1, 3:46.
Kyle Noke def. Rob Kimmons via submission (rear naked choke) - Round 2, 1:33.
Pascal Krauss def. Mark Scanlon via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27).
Vladimir Matyushenko def. Alexandre "Cacareco" Ferreira via TKO (strikes) - Round 1, 2:20

State of the Strikeforce Heavyweights

Filed under:

The list of names in Strikeforce's heavyweight division is undeniably impressive: Former No. 1 fighter in the world Fedor Emelianenko. The man who beat him, Fabricio Werdum. Former UFC heavyweight champions Andrei Arlovski and Josh Barnett. Hot prospects Daniel Cormier and Shane del Rosario. And the champion, K-1 wrecking machine Alistair Overeem.

The biggest question facing Strikeforce is whether it can actually get all of those fighters -- and Antonio Silva and Brett Rogers and Lavar Johnson and so on -- into the cage, fighting each other. The heavyweight talent is there. The heavyweight fights came all too infrequently in 2010, and as we take a look below at the state of Strikeforce's heavyweight division, we offer some suggestions on what should happen in 2011.

Rihanna And Kanye West Talk Children, Fashion, Music In Interview

'I have a lot of other stuff to accomplish before I get to kids,' RiRi admits to West in the magazine.

It is difficult enough getting superstars like Kanye West and Rihanna to sit still long enough individually for a conversation, but Interview magazine has managed to get them both together at the same time (though not on the same continent). The periodical — which pairs up famous names for chats about their work — has devoted the cover of its December/January issue to Rihanna, and features an interview with the singer conducted by West.

A number of topics are explored in the lengthy, revealing conversation, which was conducted over the phone a few weeks ago while West was in a London studio working on his forthcoming album Watch the Throne — a full-length collaboration with fellow superstar Jay-Z — and Rihanna was between rehearsals for her appearance on "Saturday Night Live." They chat about fashion (Rihanna is "over the whole structured clothing, overly shoulder-padded sh--"), sexuality ("How does it feel to know that you can turn straight women gay?" West asks) and lyrics ("I think a lot of people have a misperception of me," Rihanna says. "They only see the tough, defensive, aggressive side. But every woman is vulnerable."). They also discuss Rihanna's work on the upcoming film "Battleship" (she drank a lot of Red Bull because the schedule was so grueling) and the possibility of whether or not she would ever step away from music to focus on film full time the way Justin Timberlake has. "I didn't know if I was going to like [making movies] or hate it or love it," she admits. "But I actually enjoy it and it's something that I'm looking forward to in the future. But I'll never shut off from music and just do film. I love music too much."

In addition to talking about work, West also dives into some personal issues. Rihanna admits that she is torn about having children. "That depends on a lot of other s---," she says. "I have a lot of other stuff to accomplish before I get to kids. It could be a year from now. It could be 10 years from now."

Of course, it wouldn't be a conversation with West if there wasn't a little bit of self-promotion. At the top of the interview, he tells Rihanna that Watch the Throne is "going to be very dark and sexy — like very couture hip-hop. Because since me and Jay have already had big records and over-the-top joints, we're just going to make some real dirty, f---ed-up, hardcore stuff. But it's also luxe and definitely high-class."

Lauzon ready for challenges from Sotiropoulos and 'Call of Duty'

DETROIT -- Joe Lauzon lucked out. The release of "Call of Duty: Black Ops" came just a week before his UFC 123 bout with George Sotiropoulos, so the noted gamer could spend time on the latest video game as he tapered down workouts.

"It came last week, which was my taper week, so it didn't interfere, but I was a little worried. If it would have been one or two weeks earlier, it would have been bad," Lauzon said.

He is ready to make the jump to the top of the UFC's lightweight division, and Lauzon plans to use George Sotiropoulos as a springboard.

"I'm excited for it, because it means I don't have to beat that lower level guy. I can just jump right up," Lauzon said. "Beating a guy whose 6-0, 7-0 in the UFC and close to a title shot definitely puts me close to the top."

To get that win, Lauzon is going to do what he can to make sure that Sotiropoulos has no extra advantages, including his controversial practice of wearing knee and ankle braces that cover most of his leg.

"I've asked the commission what my choices are.  In the past, all the commissions that I've dealt with have said he can wear something soft as long as the opponent agreed. People are saying I'm calling him a cheater. I'm not."

Lauzon doesn't want to allow Sotiriopoulos even the slightest advantage, because if he loses a close decision, he doesn't want to look back and wonder, "What if?"

"I'm leaning towards telling him no knee pad, no ankle brace. I don't think he's wearing him because he has bad knees and bad ankles. I think he wears them because he does a lot of high rubber guard, and it helps with the slipping. If I could take away that advantage, I will."

He was pleasantly surprised when he was offered a fight with Sotiropoulos, a fighter who is on a six-fight winning streak in the UFC.

"It's a huge jump. I think I was building pretty good momentum, and then I lost to Sam Stout. Sam beat me fair and square. He was the better guy that night, but I think if I wouldn't have rushed coming back from knee surgery so much, it would have been a different fight.  I think to the UFC, that fight never happened, so that's why I'm getting such a big fight now."

As he's done in previous fights, Lauzon designed a special shirt for his cornermen, friends and family. It takes a swipe at the Australian-born Sotiropoulos, reading, "According to Australian Game and Wildlife, 100 people are killed every year by adult Joeys. You've been warned."

Ke$ha's Cannibal: A Cheat Sheet

Singer has already scored a hit with new single 'We R Who We R.'
By Gil Kaufman

Photo: Jon Kopaloff/ Getty Images

It's been a pretty phenomenal year for Ke$ha. The brash, glitter-loving club kid burst onto the scene in January with her debut album, Animal, hot on the heels of the smash debut single "Tik Tok."

In short order, she ended the chart run of Susan Boyle when Animal debuted at #1, made her first trip to the Grammy Awards, teamed up with pals 3OH!3 for another hit video with "Blah Blah Blah," dropped in on "American Idol" and hit the road with Rihanna. And that's just the first three months of the year!

But after scoring another hit with "Your Love Is My Drug" and flipping the bird to haters over their critiques of her wobbly debut on "Saturday Night Live," Ke$ha unleashed another single, "Take It Off."

For a minute, there was talk of a follow-up album that might have a country twang, not out of the question considering that she's a Nashville native and her mom penned songs for Dolly Parton and Johnny Cash. But as she said at the time, "I'm also really digging being called, like, half-jokingly, a white-girl rapper. I think it's really funny, and I'm going to ride that train for a little bit."

By August, she was already plotting her next move, telling MTV News, "I'm always writing and kind of thinking of the next step. I'm still executing this record properly onstage, but the next record is definitely on my mind, and potentially in the works soon." She described waking up in Tokyo at 4 in the morning with a brainstorm for a new song and then spending seven hours making a "horrible" beat on "Garage Band" and singing and rapping into her computer.

A short time later, it was announced that her nine-song follow-up, Cannibal, would hit stores November 22 as a "companion" album to a reissue of Animal. The disc was reported to contain eight new songs produced by heavy-hitters like Max Martin, Benny Blanco and Bangladesh and to be preceded by "We R Who We R."

"This year has been carnivorous and life-changing. I have my rowdy, gorgeous fans to thank for taking me on the ride of a lifetime," Ke$ha said in a statement. "My only goal with this record is to keep them dancing. The songs on Cannibal were made to inspire people to ignore any hate or judgment and be themselves unapologetically. It's the perfect companion to Animal and I hope you guys like it. And if you don't like it — bite me."

Though a rumored hookup with Drake was false, a confirmed track list proved to have plenty of profane and silly titles, including (ahem) "C U Next Tuesday," "Sleazy," "Blow," "The Harold Song," "Cannibal," "We R," "Crazy Beautiful Life" and "Grow a Pear," plus a remix of "Animal." After winning an MTV EMA for Best New Act, the singer also locked in her first headlining affair, the Get $leazy Tour, which is slated to kick off February 15 in Portland, Oregon.

Like most major new albums, Cannibal leaked online a week before it hit shelves, perhaps the finest proof yet that Ke$ha has truly hit the big time. Only this time, after most of the songs had hit the Web, Ke$ha just posted the damn thing herself on her website and told her fans to enjoy.

"This is my album premiere, and it's top secret, and it's really fun and it's wild," Ke$ha said in a message posted on her site. "Things are going to get crazy and a little awkward, it'll be okay. Listen to it."

She's going to have plenty of major competition on the charts this week with new releases from Kanye West, Nicki Minaj and My Chemical Romance, but something tells us Ke$ha isn't that worried.

Open the floodgates! It's Mega-Release Week, with Kanye West, Nicki Minaj, Jay-Z, Ne-Yo, Ke$ha, My Chemical Romance and Lloyd Banks all dropping new albums. Stick with MTV News for everything you need to know about the brand-new music.

Justin Bieber, Ke$ha, Katy Perry Pick Up Platinum Certifications

Releases by Black Eyed Peas, Rihanna, B.o.B, Bruno Mars also recognized by recording-industry organization RIAA.

On Wednesday, the Recording Industry Association of America handed out their latest round of gold and platinum certifications ... and if your name was Ke$ha or Justin Bieber, well, then it was a very good day for you.

Ke$ha's Animal was certified gold (meaning it passed the 500,000-sales mark) and a spate of her digital singles went multiplatinum, with "Tik Tok" being downloaded more than 5 million times and "Your Love Is My Drug" racking up another 2 million. "Blah Blah Blah" and "Take It Off" both were certified gold, meaning that, all told, she's sold more than 8.5 million downloads to date.

Bieber earned his first-ever multiplatinum award, as the RIAA certified sales of his My World 2.0 album at more than 2 million copies. "Baby," his team-up with Ludacris, also was certified as double platinum.

Wednesday also was a great day to be the Black Eyed Peas, as their massive tune "I Gotta Feeling" was certified 6-times platinum (that's more than 6 million downloads) — making it the RIAA's highest-ever digital-song certification.

Following (somewhat) close behind the Peas were the likes of Katy Perry, B.o.B, Taio Cruz and Rihanna, who had their respective mega singles "California Gurls," "Airplanes," "Break Your Heart" and "Don't Stop the Music" certified as triple platinum. Perry and Rihanna also each picked up a double-platinum certification — for "Teenage Dream" and "Rude Boy," respectively — bringing their total hauls to more than 5 million units sold.

The Bruno Mars track "Just the Way You Are" was certified platinum, giving the crooner his very first solo plaque. B.o.B's "Magic" and former "American Idol" champ Kris Allen's "Live Like We're Dying" also picked up platinum certifications.

A hot ticket in Detroit, fans are focused on 'Rampage'

Detroit is going through some rough times. The struggling economy has killed the city. Housing values are at an all-time low and unemployment has skyrocketed. It might be why the Detroit-area fans are fired up to see Quinton Jackson. He escaped the rough streets of Memphis to become one of mixed martial arts' biggest stars.

Jackson faces Lyoto Machida tonight in the Octagon in the main event  at UFC 123. The 32-year-old told the Detroit Free Press that fighting has saved him from a life behind bars.

"Wrestling and the UFC have changed my life. The toughest people in the world -- the street punks who think they're tough, anyway -- are dead or in prison," Jackson said. "If you are in prison, that's the same as being dead, I think. This sport saved me. I could have been dead. I've been shot at a few times."

At 32 years old, Jackson (30-8, 5-2 UFC) is still a young guy but the fight marks a crossroad for his career. Plenty of critics are questioning Jackson's ability to get back to the well-rounded ways of his PRIDE days. The powerful brawler has fallen in love with his hands. If you only approach him from one angle, Machida (16-1, 8-1 UFC) is a tough assignment. He needs to mix things up, but in the end, it will be Rampage's power punching that can win him the fight. It's what has fans scurrying for tickets.

According to SeatGeek, even with the money struggles in the Motor City, fans are hot and heavy over UFC 123.

UFC 123 Results: Mark Munoz Beats Aaron Simpson

by Michael David SmithIn a battle of two excellent collegiate wrestlers that was fought mostly on the feet, Mark Munoz beat Aaron Simpson by unanimous decision at UFC 123.

"I was prepared to go three rounds and go as hard as I can," Munoz said afterward. "I know Aaron doesn't back down, and I didn't back down for three rounds."

As is so often the case when two wrestlers step into the Octagon, they ended up spending most of the time on their feet in the first round, feeling each other out in the stand up, trading punches, and stalemating more than anything else when they clinched. Simpson probably did a little more than Munoz and deserved to win the first.
